One of our favorite times of the year is in July when Cape Cod comes alive with a burst of color and community spirit during the annual Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival, and this year’s celebration promises to be the best yet! From July 11–20, 2025, locals and visitors alike are invited to immerse themselves in a ten-day garden extravaganza that showcases the Cape’s signature flower—the hydrangea—alongside a vibrant tapestry of private gardens, expert workshops, and family-friendly activities
What Makes the Hydrangea Festival Special?
· Exclusive Garden Tours: The heart of the festival is the daily self-guided tours of private gardens across Cape Cod. Each garden reflects the unique vision and care of its owner, offering inspiration for gardeners of all skill levels. Admission is just $5 per person per garden, with proceeds benefiting local nonprofits.
· Workshops & Demonstrations: Whether you’re a seasoned horticulturist or a budding plant lover, enjoy hands-on classes and lectures led by renowned experts. Learn about hydrangea care, pruning techniques, and the latest trends in garden design
· Hydrangea University: Don’t miss this signature symposium at Heritage Museums & Gardens on July 11, featuring presentations from leading hydrangea authorities, garden tours, and a take-home plant. Advance registration is required and spots fill up fast
· Interactive Activities: At Heritage Museums & Gardens, enjoy self-guided walking tours through the most comprehensive hydrangea collections in North America, meet Cape Cod Hydrangea Society volunteers, and participate in special events like ASL-interpreted guided tours
